Program Overview
  • Purpose : To create overseas job opportunities for certified Korean language teachers
    in King Sejong Institutes located in regions that need professional Korean language teachers, in accordance with the "Korean Language Basic Act."
  • Dispatching Institutions : King Sejong Institutes in the countries of dispatch.
Selection and Role of Dispatched Teachers
  • Eligibility Requirements
    • - A citizen of the Republic of Korea
    • - A holder of a Korean language teacher certificate (Grades 1-3) or scheduled to obtain one
    • - Must reside in South Korea
    • - Must have no issues working abroad
    • - Able to be appointed alone
    • - Able to work according to the Foundation's selection process, pre-training, and dispatch schedule

  • Holder of a Korean language teacher certificate
  • Relevant major
  • Minimum of 8 years (3,200 hours) of experience (Level 2 or higher)
  • Master's degree or higher in Korean Language Education, Korean Language and Literature, Linguistics, or related fields
  • Holder of a Korean language teacher certificate
  • 3 to 8 years (1,200 to 3,200 hours) of experience (Level 2 or higher)
  • Holder of a Korean language teacher certificate
  • 1 to 3 years (400 to 1,200 hours) of experience (Level 3 or higher)
  • Holder of a Korean language teacher certificate
  • Less than 1 year (400 hours) of experience in Korean language education (Level 3 or higher)
    ※ For those expected to obtain a bachelor's or master's degree in Korean Language Education as a Foreign Language, Level D applies, provided they have completed the required credits in specific areas necessary for obtaining Korean language teacher certificate as outlined in the Enforcement Decree Appendix 1 of the Korean Language Basic Act.
  • Role of Dispatched Teachers (Online and Offline)
    • - Managing Korean language education and stabilizing the operation of the educational curriculum at King Sejong Institute
    • - Developing educational materials to enhance Korean language education at King Sejong Institutes and supporting administrative tasks
    • - Re-training King Sejong Institute teachers within the region
Support for Dispatched Teachers
  • Salary and additional allowances
  • Other support: Round-trip airfare, one-time relocation expenses, enrollment in travel insurance, subscription to safety management services, domestic training, etc.

Support for Dispatched Teachers' Local Language Learning

  • Purpose : To assist in the smooth local adaptation of dispatched instructors and ensure their safe stay by providing support for learning the language of the dispatch region.
  • Eligible Participants : Dispatched teachers currently employed at King Sejong Institutes.
  • Main Content
    • - Offering courses in the official or commonly used language of the dispatch region
    • - Providing cross-cultural lectures to foster mutual understanding of the dispatch country
    • - Consulting on course levels and other related matters
    • - Operational Format : Online language courses and individual 1:1 video programs through specialized foreign language teaching companies (formats may vary).
    • - Education Process : Application submission (identifying target language) → Confirmation of course content (level test and orientation) → Online education → 1:1 education → Completion of education (reporting of learning results and satisfaction survey)
