The King Sejong Institute Foundation (hereinafter KSIF, President: Lee Hai-young) signed a business agreement with the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (hereinafter HRDK, Chairman Eo Su-bong) on December 6 to expand the dissemination of Korean language and culture among foreign workers.
Using this agreement as a new opportunity, the two organizations undertook to develop multilingual online lectures centered on Korean conversation for foreign workers preparing for the Test of Proficiency in Korea (EPS-TOPIK). In addition, the KSIF will provide Korean language and culture lectures to the HRDK EPS Centers overseas to help foreign workers who are planning to enter Korea to improve their Korean language skills and adapt more easily to Korean society.
Meanwhile, the two institutions will first produce online Korean language lectures for four countries (Nepal, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Bangladesh) with high demand for the EPS-TOPIK test, and expand to 16 countries where EPS centers are located.
President Lee Hai-young of KSIF said, “With this agreement, professional Korean language and culture education will be expanded to foreigners who wish to work in Korea. We will continue to develop and disseminate customized educational contents in consideration of local demand to expand the learning base of Korean language and culture.
Online Korean lecture contents developed through cooperation between the two institutions will be later released via the Korean language learning platform online King Sejong Institute (www.iksi.or.kr), and the integrated website for providing information on Korean language and culture (https://nuri.iksi.or.kr/).
