The KSI operation know-how that the senior KSI delivers to the new KSI
> A total of three new KSI locations (Srang, Poipet, and Phnom Penh 2) in Cambodia in 2023
> Understanding the concerns of new KSIs, and sharing knowledge through the meeting
On the evening of Tuesday, October 24, officials of KSIs in Cambodia gathered together. KSI Siem Reap, KSI Srang, KSI Poipet, and KSI Phnom Penh 2 gathered online to have a meeting.
There are many Korean language learners in Cambodia who dream of finding employment in Korea. Recently, the demand for Korean learning has increased in various fields, among persons wishing to study abroad, multicultural families, and lovers of Korean culture, in addition to those seeking employment. To meet this demand, the King Sejong Institute Foundation (hereinafter referred to as "KSIF") has designated three new KSI locations in Cambodia 2023: Srang, Poipet, and Phnom Penh 2. These three locations, which are currently in pilot operation, are facing various problems and challenges in administration and education due to the local characteristics of Cambodia. Accordingly, KSI Siem Reap held an online meeting with officials of new KSI locations.
In this meeting in which 13 persons participated, they shared the operation cases of KSI Siem Reap to minimize trials and errors experienced by new locations, hoping to operate them successfully.
Various questions were posed and answered at the meeting, based on the case study of KSI Siem Reap's operation. Participants were able to gain knowledge of and insights into the operation of KSI from contents, such as operation, expense settlement, student management, curriculum, evaluation, etc. The meeting served as a guide for new KSI locations by providing an opportunity for sharing their concerns on academic management and administrative work.
President Lee Ki-won of KSI Poipet said, “I was able to learn know-how about operating KSI through this meeting. Above all, I realized the importance of securing financial transparency through contents on settlement.”
We hope that all the new KSI locations that participated in this meeting will successfully settle down as institutions for disseminating Korean language and culture effectively for the Cambodian region. In addition, we hope that a healthy Korean education system will be established in Cambodia through exchanges and cooperation among KSI locations within Cambodia, and that the Korean language learning fever in Cambodia will continue for a long time.
