A Special Event to Celebrate and Encourage Graduates as They Pursue Their Dreams and Goals Through
the Korean Language Learned at KSI
On January 2, a graduation ceremony for 40 learners who completed the Sejong Korean 8 course was held at the
residence of the Korean Ambassador to Iran. The event became even more meaningful with the participation of
Ambassador Kim Jun-pyo, marking a day to celebrate the students' passion for the Korean language and culture.
The ceremony began with a welcome speech by Ambassador Kim Jun-pyo. He emphasized that completing the KSI
program is not the end but a new beginning, stating, “Language is a key that opens doors to various fields of
study and cultures. The knowledge you have accumulated will lead you to even greater opportunities.” He also
highlighted the challenge and value of learning a new language, expressing his hopes that the graduates will
play a significant role in strengthening the relationship between Korea and Iran.

Next, a video message from Teacher Kim Ji-a, who resides in Korea, was presented. She expressed her regret at
not being able to attend in person and conveyed her hopes that the passion and dedication of the graduates would
serve as a bridge strengthening the friendship between the two countries. Representing the graduates, Ani
Yaghoob delivered a heartfelt speech in fluent Korean, sharing how meaningful the learning experience at KSI had
been. She stated, “Although we all have different dreams and goals, the joy of being given the opportunity to
study the Korean language and culture through the KSI is something we all share.” She also expressed her deep
gratitude to the teachers and organizers.

Following the speeches, graduates received bouquets and certificates. During the break, they enjoyed various
snacks, including Korea’s representative dish, tteokbokki, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. The
highlight of the ceremony was the hanbok experience. For many, it was their first time wearing traditional
Korean attire, and they shared their excitement, saying, “I feel like the main character in a historical drama”
and “I want to wear hanbok for the rest of my life.” They also captured the special moment by taking
commemorative photos in their hanbok.

Athena, a staff member at KSI Tehran, shared her thoughts, stating, “Studying at the KSI is not just about
learning the Korean language—it is a journey to deeply understand Korean culture. You have now grown into
outstanding individuals with profound knowledge of the Korean language and culture.” She also expressed her
gratitude, saying, “I sincerely thank the ambassador and his spouse for preparing such a meaningful graduation
ceremony at their residence, as well as the Director of KSI Tehran for leading the institute through challenging
times and creating unforgettable memories for all of us.”
The ceremony ended with a group photo of the graduates. They expressed both the joy of completing their studies
and the sadness of parting with their teachers, cherishing the memories they made at the King Sejong Institute
in their hearts.
