On April 8th, King Sejong Institute Foundation has released three apps of Sejong Korean vocabulary (advanced), conversation and pronunciation (intermediate 1) and grammar (intermediate 1) for Korean learners around the world.

These three newly released apps are the outcome of Sejong Korean vocabulary (beginner and intermediate), conversation and pronunciation (beginner) and grammar (beginner) developed by KSIF between 2016 and 2018 with increased level of difficulty in each area.

‘Korean current affairs vocabulary (advanced) learning app’ is designed to study advanced Korean vocabulary from current events such as newspaper articles and news broadcastings. Also learners can watch the latest news and enhance their understanding of Korean society.

The core feature of ‘Sejong Korean conversation and pronunciation (intermediate 1) learning app is voice recognition technology. Learners can compare their pronunciation with the pronunciation of a native speaker through the voice recognition function installed in the app.’ Sejong Korean grammar (intermediate 1) learning app allows students to learn grammar in a fun way with games. Sejong Korean conversation and pronunciation and grammar (intermediate 2) apps will be released in 2020.

Additionally, all three Sejong Korean apps (3 types) are produced in four languages, including Korean, English, Chinese, and Spanish for the convenience of learners.

It has been rather difficult to find high quality Korean learning materials for intermediate and advanced learners of Korean since most of the contents are catered to beginners. The foundation hopes to develop Korean language learning apps (3 types) for intermediate and advanced levels to support all levels of Korean learners.

Three new Sejong Korean apps are available for free on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Since 2016 KSIF has been developing Sejong Korean apps so that learners across the globe can learn Korean on their smartphones whenever and wherever they are. The three Sejong Korean apps had been released previously were downloaded a total of 400,000 times in 183 countries. Their service quality were recognized and awarded ‘Good Content Service Certification’ by Korea Data Agency in 2017 and 2018.
